Lil Wayne Receives BMI Icon Award at R&B/Hip-Hop Awards

U.S. Army Joins in Celebrating 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop

The U.S. Army is proudly participating in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. Staff SGT. Lamar Riddick and Staff SGT. Nicholas “Nico” Feemster, talented rappers and members of the Army Field Band, will be showcasing their skills during the festivities.

Encouraged to pursue their passion for music, the two rappers became part of the Army Field Band and created a track titled 'Basic' in collaboration with their bandmates. This unique fusion of hip-hop and military music will be performed at the impromptu 50th anniversary of hip-hop show.

Staff SGT. Riddick and Staff SGT. Feemster bring their own storytelling style to their rhymes, connecting with their audience and drawing inspiration from legendary hip-hop artists. Their involvement reflects the cultural significance and legacy of the genre.

The U.S. Army's participation in the celebration underscores the impact of hip-hop on society and its ability to bring people together through the universal language of music.
