Time to cut the excuses?

Edith Murwe-Traina, is a 100 year old competitive powerlifter who lifts weights ranging from 40 to 150 pounds.

While I was watching those ladies doing their thing, I thought I just as well should.

Oh my gosh!! She is phenomenal!! 100 years old -- unbelievable. My grandma lived until 98 and she was in the gym and line dancing up until a few years before she passed. And truly, she looked decades younger than her actual age. Stories like these are the true motivators when it comes to the value of exercise. We can listen to coaches in their 20s and 30s, and while they can certainly offer valuable information, there's nothing quite as motivating as seeing a person close to 100 years old, still crushing it! I'm saving this video to share with everyone!

Wow, how inspiring! I'm struggling with my body after having a baby but this has really given me the impetus to do something about it.

I struggled with the baby weight too after my 2nd child but I told myself it wasn't about having the "perfect" body, it was about being healthy so I would always be around to watch my child grow. Thats what motivates me to work out, being there for my babies.

What an inspiring story. Now I really have no excuses to not get back in the gym. I have been thinking about getting back into a routine and it’s hard to get into the right mindset. Edith is super inspiring. Time to get back to my early mornings.

Thanks for sharing.

Edith is such an inspiration! I’m in my 30s and really hate working out but she has motivated me to try again one more time!

WOW!!!! I will officially stop finding excuses!!! Edith is an absolute inspiration!

There is no better feeling than finishing a great workout. Always perks me right up.

I can only imagine how she feels at 100!!!

I LOVE THIS!

No she isn’t about to turn 100! She started lifting at 91?!  If she isn’t motivation to keep in shape, I don’t know who is.  She looks GREAT!  Go Edith! Sometimes women get afraid of weight lifting, thinking they’ll get too bulky…but that’s not true.  Weightlifting tones, and keeps you strong.  I love that she came to realize in her 90’s our need as humans to be seen for who we are.  Yes Edith, that is a beautiful thing.
